Holy crap, I just read through this thread. The intelligent discussion on the finer points of moral decency, what is appropriate material on this site, and the media's sexual influence. Then it all went out of the window.
So I'd just like to add... I HAVE PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS, BUT I WOULD NEVER LET ANYONE NEAR MY PENIS WITH A NEEDLE, IT WOULD SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!

I've got used to hospital related needles, and I'm fine with tattoos and most piercings... but THAT would be a big NO NO! I mean, you wouldn't let somebody go at it with a knife would you?

Back to seriousness for a moment. I think it is unfortunate that DOS Gamer has had to no longer host adult games. Was there not some other answer? Would an age verification for that section have been sufficient? Also, did the adult ads hurt traffic that much? Or was it a cultural decision?

I think it was necessary to remove the adult games in order to to drop the adult advertising. The advertising was inappropriate for the kind of site this is. If people want porn they can find it easily enough online without the use of advertising on a site frequented by minors.
I'm not a prude, far from it. I do have a 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter who like to sit with me and pick out cool games to play. Luckily I have Adblock so none of it comes through to me anyway. But I'm sure I'm not the only father who plays computer games with his kids.

I am also curious as to how DOSGamer's advertising service defines an adult site.
