A few notes about Quran Reciter 1.0 (Last updated Jan, 2003)
--------------------------------------------------------------

This version of QuranReciter does not include the audio files (which take up nearly 350 Mb) and are available only on the CD version (which can be ordered from the author. You will have to bear the cost of CD + postage and handling).

However, this short version of the software can be used to read the english transliteration, translations, search in the translation, and to get a sense of what the full version looks like.

The following applies to the full version:

- This software is designed to be run directly from the CD. Therefore there is no installation or setup for this program. Go to the folder 'Quran Reciter' and double-click on file 'QReciter.exe'.

- If you want to copy the software on the hard disk, copy the entire 'Quran Reciter' folder.

- The folder 'Surahs' contains all the mp3 files, one for each verse of the Quran, and numbered according to the format "Surah.Verse". For example, 036.001 indicates verse 1 of surah 36.

- QuranReciter uses WinAmp for playing the audio files (a free software available from www.winamp.com). WinAmp is available in the folder called WinAmp. There is no need to 'install' it.

- How does QuranReciter work?
When the user selects a range of verses to be played, QuranReciter generates a playlist file (with '.m3u' extension) in the user's Temporary Folder and plays it on WinAmp.

- Use 'Search' button to search either in the translations or transliteration. Words separated by blank space will force an implicit 'AND' search.
(Example: specifying HEAVEN EARTH will search for lines with words HEAVEN and EARTH). To search for string 'heaven earth' enclose them between single quotes. Search capability is very basic in nature, and supports upto 2 words only. Search is case insensitive.
