Section 2 - Your First Dragon

I'm sure this is probably a scary thing for you -
I mean, how many guide books are there on how to
raise a dragon? Not many. So we've decided to give
you a little bit of help for the first time you
run Virtual Dragon.

When you first load the game, an Input Box will
appear, asking for the name of your dragon. Try
to pick a name that suits the type of dragon you
want. For example, if you're looking for a guard
dragon, you might but Butch. Or if you're looking
for a friend, you might put Nathan. Who knows?

After that, the main screen will appear. The top
row of buttons are similar to a Menu in most
programs. You can click one, and go from there.
The bottom row, which is disabled, are the actions
your dragon can do. They are disabled for now
because your dragon is still in its egg. When it
hatches, the buttons will become usable.

At the top right corner of the screen is the age
indicator. This tells you how old your dragon is.
At the age of 150, your dragon will die (peacefully,
of old age. Don't feel guilty or anything...), or
earlier if you don't take care of it. On the right
side are the status bars. They tell you how hungry,
tired, healthy, and happy your dragon is.

For the first few years of your dragon's life
(until it turns 15) the bottom action buttons will
be basically useless. His status will stay the same.
This is a good time to read the help files. They
will teach you everything else you need to know about
about your dragon.
