| The basic interface is divided in five zones. There are two zones that look alike. Those zones contain the folder structure as presented on the disk system. The left one will be the source and the right one is the destination. When you copy a link, for example, you will select the link to copy from the list at your left and select from the list to your right the destination folder where you want the link to be copied. The third zone, white area on the top center is the edition area. Bellow the edition area we find our fourth zone. That is a gray buttonized list which contains the links from the selected folder. The last zone is located just bellow that one. There is where the main commands and functions are accessed from. |

| Referred Links - Browsing
speed optimization Some times when you add a link through your browser to your Favorites list the referred site is also stored into the link. Each time you select that link from your list of Favorites, the original referred site will also be imprinted as a part of the path. This favors the referral site since a hit is added to their hits counter even if you don't visit their site. This event slows your browsing to the link you plan to visit since it requires a previous step by polling the path string to a remote script that processes the referral link and just then opens the page you want to visit. The speed or time passed since you selected the link and from the actual page opening will depend mostly upon network traffic and the time the remote script needs to process the referral part of the path string and generate the return code to open the page. When Favorites Manager detects a multiple link like these, it will break the original link and separate both url's into separate entries. You will immediately notice this because the interface looks will change. (see picture) At this point you have the option to disregard any changes. To do so, click the curved blue arrow. If you want to store both links in separated Favorites entries, press the Disk button. An input field to enter the name for the new link will show next to this last button. After typing the name for the link, click the Disk button again to save the changes to disk or press the Return key. This new link will be stored into the same Favorite's folder than the originator. This is to the folder that is open on the Source list. The originator link will also be stored but this time with the changes done. In other words, with the referral link removed. To hide these panels and return to the normal view, click the curved arrow button. When you do so, the link content without changes will show in the edition area. Discarding the Referral Link If you want to keep the original link and discard the splited link - referral link - clear up the lower edit field. Then, click on the Disk button twice. Or click it once and press the Return key over the Link Name input field. This procedure stores the original link only. |

| Create a Link You can also add an entry to your Favorites without visiting the website. As an example we will be adding a link to PGTec website. The first step is to open Favorites Manager. Then click the vertical button. Locate the button with a folder and a heart - same as Favorites Manager Icon -. Click the down arrow and select Edit from the list. The edition area will be filled with part of the information needed to complete the procedure. Type the Url to the website next to the first diagonal bars - // - then copy and paste or type the same Internet address - url - next to the second diagonal pair. If the link is for a secure site, add a "s" - without quotes - after http and before the : sign. It shoul look like this: https:// For our example it should look as follows: [DEFAULT] BASEURL=http://www.bawy.org/pgtec/index.html [InternetShortcut] URL=http://www.bawy.org/pgtec/index.html Open a folder from the Destine list - Right side - ( Double clicking a folder opens it ) Now click the down arrow from the same button and select Save from the list. An input field tagged as Link Name will show. Type the name for that link. In our example the name is: PGTec Software - But you can name it as you like. Press the Return key on your keyboard. To verify that the link was created, open the folder where you stored the link from the Source area. Locate the link name on the list of links - gray area - Click on the link name and verify the entries on the edition area. If changes are necessary, remember to click the Restore button once completed editing the link. Closing Favorites Manager To close the program, click the X button located on the top right corner or left click the program's icon located on the top left and select Close from the options list. |
