Now that search is cross-platform, it would be nice to be able to limit a search to just one platform, or even a selection of platforms.

sure. I was thinking a dropdown or links like /games/ page but maybe
checkbox for multi or default is all i assume? Star
or search updates by section like forum and games and inbox, so all flash pages search just flash.

hmm its a good idea just needs good implementation.

Probably all that's needed is a dropdown listing each platform with and added "All platforms" choice, which is used as the default, i.e. just like the Groups search. It could default to the current platform if searching from a game page.

I can't think why someone would want to search just DOS and NES games for example. They're either looking within a specific platform, or they're searching for a game title and have no clue of the platform.

ok 'platform specific' search results depending on game platform is the best solution.

Click any dos/nes/flash games and search defaults to that platform.

Those searches will show a message like

I link multi platform games on its details page. so most dos games with a NES version have a link to it, and vice versa.

almost there.. searches on NES and flash game pages and listings search only those games.

DOS Games default is all.

just a few bits to interlink the searches and will be complete. Smile
