Okay in 1997 there was a game that was released from Interplay that was called Realms of the Haunting and it was a first-person/adventure game that placed you in the shoes of a guy named Adam Randall and he is awaken from his nightmare that was about his fathers mysterious murder which involved him going to a strange mansion that a demonic presence in it and it is up to Adam Randall to find out what was in that mansion that killed his father and then he also has to save the world from the demonic influence of HELL'S MINIONS and stop their leader Belial from total destruction.

He's not alone though there are a whole cast of different people that help him along the way such as some lady which I forget her name and some old dude that knows of the magic that is going on in the mansion.

Other than that this was a very cool and interesting game that for some reason was underrated and rare and its Interplay's fault that they did not try so hard to release the game which I thought that it would have made great sales for its time and would have probably been a sequel or two.

Some of the features that this game had was the fact that it had a nice aim system where you could literally point with the mouse where you want to shoot ( like if you want to go for the leg it allowed you to do that, or if you wanted the head you could end up doing that to) and also you were kinda rushed, because if you stay in an area for too long then the monster/s in that area would come back. The good thing is that the monsters could not go through doors if they were too big which gives people an advantage in the game.

The weapons I heard and research were kind of nice, it was an mixture of modern and magic like you could get a 1911 Colt .45 pistol an double barrel 12 gauge shotgun and I think you get a machinegun to but the the magic weapons are weird and have weird effects to but they could recharge as well.

Well thats all that I know of the game myself and by researching different websites as well but if you want to know more then go to www.realmsofthehaunting.com and its a really cool game and I think that it should be on the website.

Dark Sun: The Shattered Lands (i.e. Dark Sun I) uploaded to ftp.dosgamezone.com along with the manual and copy protection codes.  I grabbed it from another site and haven't tested them myself but the zipped file extracts ok.
