i was trying to play maniac mansion on windows xp and the sound won't run correctly. i use to know a way around this problem when i played the game in 97 (i would execute tentacle instead of dott) but, when i tried that trick today the game shuts off after the first sound plays. it does ask for your audio information b4 you load the game but, i don't know how to find my port#, buffer#, and irq channel for my sound card. if anyone knows info, then reply to this post. counting on you
Windows XP has been known to have issues running dosgames its better to just run them in win95, win98, or 2000 or you can run them in dosbox which is a free dos emulater program that excels when it comes to running dosgames.
I hope this helps any Zeon56639211.5294444444 |

Hi. Did you check Blood.ini?
Blood.ini is a file stored in the Blood folder and it has some settings, such as the location of the movies (files with .smk extension) and the sounds of these movies (files with .wav extension).
The .smk and the .wav files are placed in the 'movie' folder. Usually, the path is c:\blood\movie
The folders where you installed the game and the paths in Blood.ini file should be the same.
The first episode plays a movie at the beginning, but most of the movies are played when you finish the last level of each episode.
For example, these are the settings in my blood.ini for the first episode:
[Episode1] ; location of movies was set at install CutSceneA=c:\blood\movie\cs1.smk CutWavA=c:\blood\movie\cs1822m.wav CutSceneB=c:\blood\movie\cs2.smk CutWavB=c:\blood\movie\cs2822m.wav
Hope it helps. |

Hi Mustafa
thanks for the reply but after i posted i was experimenting with BLOOD.ini and managed to get them working. i had to fix the file locations and under each episode where it lists the song etc. for the episode i had to put the level at which it pays info there.
;Episode 1 ;The Way of All Flesh
the level at which the cinematic/audio plays goes here with CutSceneALevel= blahblahblah
CutWavALevel=blahblahblah
[e1m1] Title = Cradle to Grave Author = James "Shade" Wilson Song = UNHOLY Track & nbsp; = 3 EndingA = 2 EndingB = 2
